SamiTe met Charlie and quickly bonded over their love of dance and body work. Adding yoga to the schedule is exciting and beneficial for everyone, as it gives students extra body awareness and connection to the self.
Charlie received her yoga certificate in 2009, right before graduating from University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. Yoga helped her with anxiety and depression while in school, and it made her realize other people would benefit from the grounding and centering she experienced in the practice.
She taught for 3 years while living on the west coast of Puerto Rico. She lead women’s surf and yoga retreats, teaching women to find their inner bravery and get out of their comfort zone. She was one of the original instructors at La Paz, the first brick and mortar yoga studio in Rincon, PR. She's taught high profile clients including celebrities and members of the US government in lush tropical settings, as well as donation based classes in the town center for the whole community to enjoy.
She's brought her practice back to the states and taught packed studio classes at USF while pregnant and obtaining her master's in social work degree. Now she's excited to share yoga in the gorgeous and intimate space here in Clearwater in the new year.
You can find her in downtown St. Pete riding her bike and skateboarding along the water side parks. She'll enjoy vegetarian lunch all over town then get her nails done. She knows the importance of self care and having fun. She'll encourage you just the same which is to find what you love, and enjoy it fully- and that includes yourself!
